Guitars for Veterans is a Wales wide charitable organisation supporting Military Veterans, Families and Friends to find mental wellness through music. Through grant funding and public donation we provide loan acoustic guitars with everything a member needs to start on thier musical journey. We provide online tutorials through youtube and safe friendly venues for group sessions on a weekly basis so our members can learn together in a supported environment. This is about learning a skill for a whole lifetime that can help members to meet likeminded people, to use a guitar to generate wellbeing in times of stress and to have fun with friends and family.

After a year of negotiation with Caerphilly County Borough Council we have taken on a unit at Woodfieldside Business Park in Pontllanfraith, Blackwood. This will be a great improvement for the storage of guitars ready for issue to new members as well as giving us a central base without having to use the private homes of our administration volunteers.
This is a big step forward for Guitars for Veterans and now allows us to break this project away from the Friends of the Royal British Legion and set up as a charity in its own right.

Mr Paul Smith, a huge supporter of the programme, has kindly donated a Vintage Statesboro Electro Acoustic Guitar. We are very grateful to him and JHS for their continued support.
Three classic guitars and an electric were donated to our team at the Neath Port Talbot Veterans Festival. These will now go off for repair and be available to non-veteran members.
We are always on the lookout for used guitars and ancillaries that we can provide to non-veteran members to better support the communities where we have G4V Groups. If anyone has a guitar gathering dust in the corner of the room we would be interested in giving it a new life with a new member family.
